The PBL units are real and authentic! My students have had a lot of choice and voice in the projects. What I like most is how they've learned to give and receive feedback from one another. This was an area we hadn't focused on much before, and this project gave us the perfect opportunity to do so.
The PBL units are incredibly interactive! Much of the content I've encountered in the past has been very surface-level, but the PBL unit I implemented allowed us to dive deeper into sources. As a result, these learning experiences have significantly elevated my students' writing and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the flexibility of the units provides ample opportunities for creativity.
I love the thinking routines and protocols that the PBL units offer! They're adaptable to different lessons, allowing me to experiment with my teaching techniques. Before discovering these routines, I had never seen my students think so deeply. Now, they're engaging at a much deeper level, which is so needed!
